Mount Meru is the fifth highest mountain in Africa and the second highest mountain in Tanzania at 4566metres high resulted from the massive volcanic activities that blast blew away the entire eastern flank of the mountain and left it with the features it has today. Ascent the mountain through various vegetations from dry forests of the lower region to dense mountain rain forest which then turn to scrubyland, the vegetation keeps varying towards to the top where it is characterized by moorland and finally the stunning baron alpine deserts. As the flora keeps changing from point to point during the climb, fauna does the same too where wildlife like elephants and buffalos can be spotted at the ascent of the mountain, leopards as well are amongst –giraffes, baboons and antelopes keeps less and less throughout the trek to definitely no animals to the top part characterized as a desert part of the trek. Armed park rangers seem inevitable through the walk dues to the presence of animals along the path.
